A debut action-adventure and political thriller, set in the fictional country of Talienk. Alec Goulding is a retired military operative with a rare set of skills and a reputation to match — a reluctant national hero after his part in winning the Talienkian Civil War. He wants nothing to do with the force or the government anymore; he works in his father’s coffee shop and keeps to himself. Then the army’s General comes asking for one favour.

A kingpin in a rival country has stumbled onto state secrets and started blackmailing the government. They want Alec to find and eliminate him, alongside an espionage team of his old friends, and end the war before it erupts. Traumatised by his last mission — and having almost lost his father to it — he wants no part of this. Until he realises he’s in a war of his own, and the fight he didn’t start becomes the one he has to finish.

Self-published in 2020. 488 pages, available on Amazon. The sequel, Deadly Sand, is in progress.
