  • Confirmed Party dissolved April 16, 2011

Court dissolves Mubarak's NDP and seizes its assets

On 16 April 2011 Egypt's Supreme Administrative Court ordered the National Democratic Party dissolved — for corruption and election fraud during Mubarak's rule — and its assets transferred to the state, meeting a central demand of the revolution that had ousted Mubarak in February 2011.

  • Confirmed Election held November 28, 2010

    Mubarak's NDP sweeps the fraud-marred 2010 election

In the November–December 2010 People's Assembly election, Hosni Mubarak's ruling National Democratic Party took about 420 of 508 seats while the Muslim Brotherhood collapsed from 88 seats to one. Rights groups documented ballot-stuffing, vote-buying and exclusion of monitors; the blatant rigging is widely seen as a trigger for the January 2011 uprising weeks later.
