Jordan Jordanian Communist Party founded
The Jordanian Communist Party was founded in 1951; in 1952 the West Bank's Palestinian communists (the National Liberation League) merged into it under leaders such as Fu'ad Nassar and Fa'iq Warrad. The state repressed it early — Nassar was jailed for ten years in 1951 and a 1953 law imposed forced labour on its cadres.
