Bin Braik appointed prime minister of Yemen's recognized government

On 3 May 2025 the Presidential Leadership Council, chaired by Rashad al-Alimi, appointed finance minister Salem Saleh bin Braik prime minister (Decision No. 156), replacing Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, who had resigned amid friction over his authority. Bin Braik, a southern technocrat, inherited an economy in free-fall in the internationally recognized government's territory.
