Yisrael Beiteinu joins the Bennett–Lapid "change government"

On 13 June 2021 Yisrael Beiteinu entered the eight-party Bennett–Lapid "change government" that ended Benjamin Netanyahu's 12-year run as prime minister. Party leader Avigdor Lieberman took the finance ministry; the coalition pointedly excluded the ultra-Orthodox parties, and Lieberman used the post to push a secular-nationalist economic agenda and to pass the long-stalled state budget.
